Internal Solidarity
One of the most important ideas in the "Proposal for Armenia" program is internal solidarity. Let me say it simply, without formalities: the current state of our society, the unacceptable atmosphere in our country, will bring us new problems, new losses, and will not allow us to achieve any positive results.
I will travel throughout Armenia and speak openly, sincerely with people, first and foremost about this very issue. I will try to convey the importance of this idea to everyone.
Armenia's recovery, our national renaissance will begin from the moment we take that first crucial step—to obtain internal solidarity.
In all spheres of life—from daily life to politics—we need new rules for coexistence. Everything starts with simple steps.
We must start listening to each other, respecting each other, and be ready both to forgive and to apologize.
Yielding is not shameful; yielding is a sign of trust and self-respect.
I am deeply concerned by the aggression that exists within us.
We have begun treating each other like enemies. Strange it sounds: we have started a reconciliation process with the enemy, yet inside the country, among the people, we encourage hostility towards one another. This goes against our interests. There is no logic in it.
The horrifying cases of domestic violence that occur every day in our cities and villages cannot leave any person indifferent. This is a direct consequence of the formed atmosphere and of a very serious failure on our part.
Internal solidarity is the new symbol of our national rebirth. I call on everyone capable of clear thinking, regardless of political or any other differences, to follow this path.
When the world and the region throw one challenge after another at us, internal solidarity takes on a special, vital meaning.
Malice, aggression, and the urge to destroy one another will lead us to a new disaster. This is precisely what the enemy wants.
The flag of internal solidarity should be the highest. It should become a flag that unites the vast majority of our society in the name of our country, our people, and our generations.
Internal solidarity must become the leading idea that helps us recover from war and defeat—not only in Armenia, but throughout the entire Armenian world.
Having endured so many catastrophes and losses, we must live by new internal Armenian rules. Wherever an Armenian may be, he must help and support another Armenian, and contribute to his success. The success of one Armenian is the success of all of us. Only by understanding this can we overcome the hostility that eats away at us.
I believe in the wisdom and inner strength of our people.
